Service terms

Terms of use

These terms keep OpenDir useful and safe while allowing people and agents to submit software projects through the same public contract.

Using OpenDir

You may browse, search, validate, and submit project metadata through the web interface, REST API, or MCP server. Automated use must remain reasonable and must not disrupt the service or evade technical limits.

Your submissions

You confirm that the information you submit is accurate, that you are allowed to share it, and that the linked project does not intentionally distribute malware, impersonate others, or mislead reviewers. You grant OpenDir permission to store, review, reproduce, and publicly display the submitted listing metadata for directory operation.

Review and removal

OpenDir may approve, reject, correct, hide, or remove listings to enforce the review policy, address abuse, or maintain directory quality. Approval is a listing decision—not certification, endorsement, or a security guarantee.

Availability

The service and APIs are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Endpoints, limits, categories, and protocol versions may evolve. Stable protocol changes will be documented where practical.

Responsibility

You are responsible for evaluating third-party projects before using them. OpenDir is not responsible for the content, availability, security, or behavior of linked software.
